6-Week Reactivity Reset Programme

Structured 1:1 reactive dog training in Swansea. Working in real-world situations with real triggers to transform your dog's behaviour.

Understanding Dog Reactivity

Reactivity is one of the most common and frustrating behavioural issues dog owners face. A reactive dog overreacts to certain triggers — other dogs, people, bicycles, or even specific environments. This often manifests as lunging, barking, growling, or pulling on the lead.

Reactivity is not aggression. It's usually rooted in fear, frustration, or over-excitement. The good news is that with the right approach, it can be significantly improved. That's exactly what this programme is designed to do.

The 6-Week Reactivity Reset Programme Structure

Weeks 1-2

Foundation & Awareness

We start by building a solid foundation. I assess your dog's specific triggers, thresholds, and patterns. You'll learn to read your dog's body language and understand what's driving the reactive behaviour. We introduce key management tools and begin threshold work in controlled environments.

Weeks 3-4

Trigger Management & Desensitisation

With a solid understanding of your dog's triggers, we begin structured exposure work. Using counter-conditioning and desensitisation techniques, we gradually change your dog's emotional response to their triggers. Sessions take place in real-world locations at carefully managed distances.

Weeks 5-6

Real-World Application & Confidence Building

The final phase brings everything together in increasingly challenging real-world scenarios. We train in busier environments, reduce distances to triggers, and build your confidence as a handler. By the end, you'll have a clear toolkit for managing and continuing to improve your dog's reactivity.
